Nice shot of the dark hedges! I was there only a few weeks ago. My shot worked best in BW. Nice work!

Im just checking that you have flipped the image as the road at the far end is turing to the left when it should turn to the right?

Not sure, could have as maybe balance was better that way. Took a while ago so cannot remember- well spotted.

Whenever I see photos like this, it takes me back to the Portrush Road from Belfast around Ballymena, either the Ballybogey B62 or A26. The trees on either side lent over the road, but sadly cut back and thinned out now. The Cullybackey to Rasharkin turn off, the Kilrea Road to Craigs Road was like this too.

Location
The Dark Hedges in Armoy, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.Time
Early morning.Lighting
I wanted to catch this spectacular avenue of beech trees at it's best when the sunlight was piercing the upper foliage and creating atmospheric beams of light which contrasted on the dark background created by the upper branches of the trees.Equipment
Just my Canon 5D Mark III, 70-200mm lens, my imagination and then later several photos were stitched and edited to create the panoramic view you see.Inspiration
I had seen this picture several times yet had never visited it even though I live in Northern Ireland myself. I wanted my own take of the place which varied from the countless other photos that had been taken here and decided to compose a horizontal panoramic to best show off this fine avenue of trees rather than the standard portrait frame which is often used.Editing
This image was created from several photos which were edited and stitched together to create the resulting panoramic image. In my camera bag
I tend to carry light often only having one body and one lens for the day- my first priority is to enjoy the scenery and if I am lucky enough my second is to capture a good image.Feedback
Take the time to look at and digest your surroundings, take a walk and figure out the best position for the shot at that specific time of the day. Sometimes it is best to try and pre-visualise the shot you want to take before visiting the site but this proves difficult if you have not physically been there before.
