Behind The Lens

Location

The photo of the climbing bear was taken at the "no mans land" between Finland and Russia.

Time

Taken late in the evening, there was issues and possibilities with shooting almost against the sinking sun

Lighting

As the evening sun came in from almost front on, I had to compensate the exposure for both highlight and shadows, I chose to overexpose the picture to get some details in the bears fur

Equipment

The picture is taken with an Canon EOS 5 DS-R and EF 70-200mm @ 200 mm. In the shed I used a sturdy ballhead mounted on the interior of the shed. 1/500 sec - f/5,6 - Iso 200

Inspiration

Nature an big mammals is my inspiration

Editing

All my pictures get a treat in Lightroom. On this particular picture, I reduced the highlights and opened up the shadows

In my camera bag

For this kind of pictures i bring 2-3 bodys and a section og tele lenses. I will normally bring EOS 5 Mk III, EOS 5 DSR, EOS 1 DS mk II, EF 16-35 f/2,8, EF 28-70 f/2,8, EF 70-200 f/2,8, 1,4 and 2x converter, Sigma 150-600 Sport edition and tripod/monopod
