My dog Lola is Momma's little girl. Where ever she goes, Lola is not far behind. She was working in the office and Lola curled up under the desk. I took the opportunity and got some really nice shots.

Welcome to Viewbug. This image just got me up to go and spend a few moments with my puppies patiently laying in front of the bathroom door waiting for my girl friend to finish up. I love monochrome and think this is an excellent subject.

She was laying under the chair in my office and I was lying on the floor with her when I decided to snap a photo. She usually runs off when I get my camera. I guess she doesn't like that big black camera staring at her. I probably had my camera about a week and I was just learning the manual settings.Time
It was early afternoon in my home office in Florida.Lighting
The natural light that comes through the window is spectacular. Because of the position of my home, this window gets consistent light throughout the day. Taking photos in there during the day, I almost never need to add any other type of light.Equipment
Nikon D3100 with the stock 18-55mm lens. I had it sitting on the floor and I propped up the lens with my hand to get this angle.Inspiration
I was sitting on the floor in front of her, fiddling with my new Nikon. I looked over at her and she was just watching me as if she was asking to be photographed. I obliged.Editing
I loaded the RAW file into Intensify (my go to photo processing app) and started playing with the settings. I wanted it to be black and white so I set that up then started playing with vignettes, contrast and grain until I found the perfect look.In my camera bag
The Nikon with the stock 18-55mm lens is all I own at the moment. I'm looking into expanding that in the near future... budget permitting.Feedback
I'm learning to look at the world through my camera lens more often. Changing angles and distance can really bring out new and exciting images even from the most ordinary subjects. Don't be afraid to do what it takes to get that perfect shot (doing so safely of course). Lay on the ground, climb a tree, stand on a dumpster, whatever you need to get that image you do!
