Location
This photo was taken at Hackfall, near Masham, North Yorkshire. It is woodland that was once part of a large private garden with many follies and man made features. In spring wild garlic and bluebells are a very popular feature.Time
This was taken around 9pm just as the light was fading rapidly. It was pretty dark and the shutter speed was around 20 seconds.Lighting
I actually wanted some lighting with a bit of twinkle to it but that wasn't forth coming.Equipment
Nikon D3X, Tripod and, 14-24mm Nikon LensInspiration
Just love the peace and natural nature of woodland.Editing
Just the usual dodging and burning, nothing extensive. In my camera bag
Normally carry a Nikon D810, Nikon D800E, 14-24mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm Lenses, 3 Nikon SB900 flashguns and Manfrotto tripod.Feedback
Take your time, search for the best impact view don't just shoot from standing height. Look for a sense of excitement in the view you take and weigh up shapes, colours, lightness and darkness looking for something that has real interest visually. Be honest with what you see and don't settle for a, 'that will do angle, go further until what you see excites you.
