Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, USA.

Time

This photo was taken about 5 minutes after the sun appeared. It was october and sunrise was good without any clouds. But i'm sure if it was cloudy i could take another good shot in that beautiful place.

Lighting

The morning light changes every half an hour here and the different pictures can be taken. The sunsrise glowing continues only 10-15 minutes after the sun appears over the distance mountains. After this you can go home:)

Equipment

i used Phase One 645df camera and Phase One IQ180 digital back, with Mamiya FishEye 24mm lens.

Inspiration

This is one of the most inspired place in the world. About 20-30 photographer visit it every morning. I try to do the same each time i'm near this national park, because each time i get absolutely different pictures from there.

Editing

I believe any landscape picture must be post-processed. I used Capture One software and Photoshop, ofcourse.

In my camera bag

In my bag i have one camera Phase One 645df with digital back iq180, three lenses 24mm, 45mm, 80mm for MF, tripod Gitzo with Manfrotto head. Thats all i need.

Feedback

If you want catch Mesa Arch glowing by orange you need to be there one hour before sunrise to get the place before the arch, because a lot of photographers spend all night there to keep their places for the best postition for shooting.
