Location
I shot this photo in a local park. I searched around until I found an area with some full trees to make a nice woodsy looking background.Time
I was shooting a little bit before sunset during the golden hour. That’s my favorite time of day to shoot since the light is so soft and even.Lighting
Golden hour is my favorite time to shoot!Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 70-200 2.8 L lens.Inspiration
I always loved fairytales growing up. I’m more of a dreamer than a realist and often live in my own little fantasy world in my head. I wanted to create an image that felt dreamy and fairytale-like.Editing
Yes! I edit in Photoshop. I edit using a mix of hand edits, Greater than Gatsby actions, and Jessica Drossin light effects! In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 24-70 2.8 L II, a lens hood, and I always carry my gear in a beautiful House of Flynn camera bag! They make my absolute favorite bags! I also always bring my giant Impact 5 in 1 reflector! I use the silver side because I love the light it brings onto my subject.Feedback
Shooting in even shade without any shadows being cast onto your subject makes for the best, smoothest post-processing. A reflector can make a massive difference in brightening your subject, especially a really large one! I picked out flowers at my local Hobby Lobby and my sister made this flower crown for me for the photos! Hobby Lobby is a great place to purchase props!
