If I were going to pan an article on how the millennial generation doesn't have a stake in the New World Order, i.e. a property and a steady job to pay the mortgage for it __ That's the image I would use to demonstrate their frustration!

Behind The Lens
Location
To be honest, this image was shot in front of a white wall outside a library, I don't have a studio so... But I shot it knowing what I wanted to do with it, so it was fairly easy to direct him.Time
It was around midday, a group shoot for those in the area that wanted a portfolio update. I do these every once in a while free of charge if I need to fill my day, or need new people to shoot, or what to meet more in the area. This was whilst we were waiting for more to turn up.Lighting
I didn't use a set up for this, it was shot on location. It was, however, an overcast day, which is fabulous because the shadows are more evened.Equipment
If I remember rightly, this set up would have been an old Nikon D200, and a nifty fifty. I probably shot it on f1.9 too because I am a huge fan of DOF, and I know how the lens works on those settings.Inspiration
I'd been itching to start learning Photoshop, and this was something I'd wanted to try, so frankly, it's all entirely experimental. And I'm just pleased it seemed to go well!Editing
A lot of post processing was done here, namely layers - plus a photoshop action called 'dispersion' by seven styles which I tweaked. Using actions allows me to see how photoshop works. In my camera bag
I travel as light as I can. I recently upgraded, so I now have a Nikon D600, always attached to a 24-70 f2.8 for a full zoom range but with the consistency of the DOF, the camera has two memory card slots so there's always a back up, plus a spare battery. So pretty light, if you discount the fact that the lens is heavy. If I were to have the pennies to go somewhere special, I'd take the nifty fifty too, and my speedlight. But that's all the equipment I have in total.Feedback
Look for an action called 'dispersion' online. Offer to shoot someone... Shoot someone looking angry. Even out exposure and your usual editing routine. Run dispersion. Et voila!
