Location
This picture was taken on a hillside near my home. Shot on a whim and not pre planned. There was my best friends daughter, who is a dancer, in a cute dress, so I handed her an unbrella and said "Leap".Time
I took this photo about 7:30 in the evening, just before dark.Lighting
There is a lot of post editing in the photo, but the lighting was already "moody". It was about to downpour so the clouds were dark and the sun was about to go down.Equipment
Honestly I can't remember. I likely used my backup camera (a Nikon D7000) and a 50mm 1.8g. It's my favorite combo in my backup kit!Inspiration
Honestly, we were just having fun and playing with angles. I was laying flat in the ground while she leaped, and leaped and leaped. We were laughing and having a lot of fun. It's great when your subjects want to play around with you and try something new.Editing
I used a couple different post processing programs. Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. The water... It's all fake, ha! In the final edit, I wanted to make it look like she was dancing on water. I tried to create a look that went along with the clouds. The water was a complete after thought and wasn't in my original plan. I played with Photoshopping just to mess around. I am not a pro when it comes to photoshop, so I duplicated the original and messed with it for about 8 hours. I tried all different "looks". From a field of daisies to a river... This was a fav end result. In my camera bag
Well I have a ton of "stuff", but if I had to pick my favorite must have combo... It would be my D800 and 70-200 2.8 or 50 1.8G.Feedback
Don't over think, and shoot for fun. It may not work out, or maybe it does! I have a lot of fun using my friends kiddos for my "models", and it's super cheap labor ha!
