A special thanks to friend and professional photographer Scott Wyden Kivowitz for his collaboration as a guest judge in this photo contest. Scott Wyden Kivowitz is a photographer from New Jersey that shares his passion for photography any way he can. Scott's work consists of portraits, commercial real estate and business photography combined with landscape photographs. Scott is also the Community & Blog Wrangler at Photocrati Media teaching other photographers how to increase business through their website.
"I chose The Journey as the winner because the photographer really shares the meaning behind the artistic expressions contest. The woman in the photograph is posing in a stance, like a dance, at the edge of a boat. Then in the is a turtle in a similar pose. It's beautifully done with pretty colors and texture and it's so fun to look at." - Scott
"I love the vibrant colors and display of three forms of art and skill, really. 1st, painting, 2nd photography and 3rd growing flowers. The painting is sharp and the textures are wonderful. It really stands off the flower background perfectly." - Scott
"I picked this photo as my 2nd runner up because I really love the monochromatic view of this subject. It's a fantastic mix of skateboarding and dance, both which require precision and balance. Looking at the photo you get a sense of realism, as if you are there watching the dancer live. It's so well done." - Scott
"Usually I would skip over selective color because usually photos with that technique aren't done well. But this one is. I love how the woman's face is behind a mask of paint. This one would have been my winner if it was in color, only because with the selective color her skin is grey, which looks funny with a a partially red face. If the skin was natural, with a partially red face it would be been much stronger. But I love the idea and attempt so I couldn't let it go unnoticed." - Scott
