I live in Northern Ontario, and on one of my hikes, I saw this little mushroom and I knew I had to take it's picture.Time
I took this mid morning around 11 a.m. on Sept 15, in the fall of 2007. I laid on my stomach and shot this hand held.Lighting
No extra lighting was used, I took advantage of the sun's rays hitting the top of the mushroom.Equipment
This was shot with my first camera, a Panasonic DMC-FZ20 on auto settings of F4, ISO 80 1/125 sec. and hand held as this mushroom was less then 2 inches high, no tripod was going to work.Inspiration
I'm always looking for that different picture, I see an object and imagine being shot at different angles. This mushroom was less than 2 inches tall and was all by it's self in a bed of green moss. Marco photography is one of my favorite type of shooting along with landscape so it's a bonus when I can tie them together.Editing
This picture is straight out of the camera, as I was just starting out and didn't know anything about post-processing. Even day, I do very little post-processing on any of my photos. What you see, is what comes out of the camera. In my camera bag
I now carry Canon in my camera bag, I usually have both my Canon Rebel 6 and 6T ready to go. Also with me, I have my Sigma 70-200 telephoto lens and Canon EF-M 28mm F3.5 Macro lens always handy. I always have my mono pod and tripod with me in my car so I'm always prepared. I still consider myself a beginner but I have now advanced to manual shooting and love it.Feedback
Never be scared to get dirty or wet taking a picture, sometimes it's the best shot of the day! Get up high or low to take a picture, a different angle can make or break the shot, most of all..... Have fun!
