This was taken in my grandma’s yard, where I tend to spend a lot of my timeTime
I believe it was mid day. With a macro shot and my equipment, I was in need of as much light as possible.Lighting
I was in need of as much light as possible but I am a lover of natural light so I didn’t make an attempt to add any artificial lighting.Equipment
At the time, I used a Nikon D3200 with a 50mm f/1.8 lens with only manual focus with an adaptor to use a lens backwards and connect to a camera.Inspiration
I always had a desire and an interest in macro photography but could never afford the proper equipment. So the reversal ring was an amazing and affordable alternative. I’ve also always had an interest in rain and the way it can impact a mood in a photo.Editing
My post processing included the basic tools of Lightroom. I had to increase the brightness and exposure significantly due to the lighting it was shot. I also increased the contrast a little bit and added a slight vignette to give more effect. In my camera bag
At the time, I would always have my Nikon D3200, Nikon 50mm f/1.8, reversal ring, 18-55mm kit lens f/3.5, and a basic tripod.Feedback
As mentioned before, a reversal ring was a great affordable alternative. It helped teach me a lot about macro photography and lighting. I found mine for $10 online! The littlest things can open a world of possibilities
