Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph in the city of Izmir, Turkey in the oldest area of where the Greeks used to live.

Time

It was about 7:30 am in the morning. Early birds get the best light or before the sun gets too high in the sky..

Lighting

The angle of the light made the texture of the wall stand out although an hour earlier might have been better.

Equipment

I used a Canon G1X for this. I

Inspiration

I was photographing the details of abandoned houses so I was in the neighbourhood specifically for that. Because of the dog being there I took it because he seemed both friendly and like that he was still guarding it for somebody. I love both subjects dogs and abandoned places, but they are few and far between sometimes.

Editing

The post processing here was just the ordinary things one does to a photograph.

In my camera bag

Just the G1X with it's fixed lens. It allows me to travel light. it does not look like a professional camera. it has an adequately large sensor.

Feedback

If you find a wonderful spot sometimes one can go back and catch it with it's most important light. As for stray animals in the image, well that just luck.
