Behind The Lens

Location

Triple Falls flows on the Little River through the DuPont State Forest in Transylvania County. Triple Falls has 3 distinct, different types of waterfalls.

Time

around 1 pm so the light will not burn out the water but have enough for the colors and water

Lighting

It's harsh daylight, the thing that helps this heavy contrast is the beautiful autumn colors

Equipment

Nikon D800 50mm Zeiss lens

Inspiration

There are only a few places to see the three falls for a great composition and you have to hike to it.

Editing

I used Photoshop to help in the contrast and to bring in the true colors from the NEF

In my camera bag

I carry three different bags depending on the shoot bag 1 is the smaller bag with D800, 15mm Zeiss, 50mm Zeiss and a 70-200 Nikon 2,8 zoom, cards, batteries, and small flash tripod bag 2 medium shoot D800, 15, 50, 60 micro, 85 Zeiss 70-200 zoom, 300mm cards, batteries, flash tripod bag 3 large D800, second body, 16, 15, 24, 50, 85, 105micro, 70-200 zoom, 300mm, cards, batteries, 3-4-5 strobes if needed, tripods
