Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in my garden

Time

Midday when the sun was at its highest

Lighting

It was such a hot sunny day the lighting was perfect and gave it a more vibrant colour

Equipment

I took this wigh my 10 year old Olympus E510

Inspiration

Dahlias are one of my favourite flowers, and the colours were too perfect not to get a shot

Editing

Yes, I did a cross process style and added a little saturation to enhance the colors

In my camera bag

I usually carry a neutral density filter and a polarizing filter.and a range depending on what I am going to be photographing

Feedback

I thinks its good to get as close as you can for a macro photo and avoid having backgrounds so people are not distracted and the focus is on the main subject. And being clever with angles is a must. Try all kinds of angles to get a different perspective. Its surprising the difference it makes to a photo by twisting and turning the camera a little more!
