Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Arches National Park in Utah at the double arch.

Time

The photo was taken at 10:00pm.

Lighting

This was a experimental photo trying out the bulb feature on the camera. I was trying to get the focus and timing right but I was not completely happy with the results. It is a good photo but I hope to return to get it perfect. The only light that was used was that of a full moon.

Equipment

I was using a Canon 70D camera and a Canon zoom lens EF 16-35mm 1:2.8L II USM. I did use a tripod.

Inspiration

I love to take photos at night and this was one of my first attempts. Someday I hope to get it with the Milky Way in the arches.

Editing

I have started using Intensify Pro. I usually use Seattle, HDR, and Clarity presets. I also did some other adjustments as need.

In my camera bag

I use a Canon 70D and a Canon Rebel T1i cameras. The lens I carry are the ones that came with the cameras, plus a Canon zoom lens EF 16-35mm 1:2.8L II USM; a Canon zoom lens EF-5 10-22mm 1:3.5-4.5 USM; and a Canon zoom lens EF 70-200mm 1:2.8 L IS II USM plus UV and CP filters for each. I carry a tripod and remote for the camera, a pair of binoculars, and a flash light.

Feedback

Focus was timing of the exposure were my biggest problems and through experimentation I got a good photo.
