Behind The Lens

Location

We had planned to go to the castle of Aigle for a shoot and when we arrived, the castle was booked for an event. I knew a spot in the area, my sister had been married there two years before. We went in front of this elegant house, Angela's outfit was perfect for the location and we had great light and an amazing background.

Time

The end of the afternoon, during the golden hour

Lighting

Just natural light. We both wanted something soft, romantic.

Equipment

Camera Nikon d800, with Nikon 135 f/2, no flash, no tripod

Inspiration

The place and the model. She was perfect in this setting of little castle.

Editing

Almost no, only correcting two-three blemishes on the skin and adjust the variance.

In my camera bag

For portrait and landscape photography, i normally have two reflex in my bag. This allows me to get two lenses without having to change. For portrait : Sigma 85mm ART f/1.4 and Nikon 135mm f/2 or Nikon 50mm f/1.4, three wonderful lenses For landscape : Sigma 24-105 mm and Sigma 100-400 mm . Previously I had a 28-300 lens, but it was damaged in an samll accident.

Feedback

For such portraits, i like to get a nice natural light, during the golden hour. So we have to observe the lights during the end of the day to get the best moment.
