I'd just like to say that this is one of the most outstanding photos that I've ever had the privilege of seeing.
With that said, I feel like it may benefit from a slightly increased saturation. Still, that's just my personal opinion. Outstanding work!

Location
This beautiful tree sits just off shore at Fairy Lake near Port Renfrew, on stunning Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It seems a fitting name for a lake upon which this enchanting scene unfolded.Time
This was shot mid day under cloudy skies, which is a great time to capture scenes such as this. The cloudy skies providing the perfect soft light.Lighting
The lighting is good even thought it was shot mid day.Equipment
This was shot with the very good Sony NEX-7 with a telephoto lens. It is a 5 second exposure shot at F8. I used a Hoya ND 400 to make the long exposure, so a tripod was essential. There was no wind and so the reflection was perfect.Inspiration
I have visited this location on several occasions but all other times it's been raining the kind of downpour one only sees on the west coast. This time the lighting and conditions were favourable and so even though we were heading on to other destinations I convinced my husband that we needed to spend some time here. Also, I'm drawn to lonely trees like this. They seem to be waiting for someone to come along and take their picture!Editing
My post-processing is very minimal. Some sharpening and contrast adjustments using Lightroom. In my camera bag
I love hiking and discovering new areas with my family along and so I keep the equipment to a minimal. I am shooting with the very good Sony A7. For lenses I typically bring along the very sharp Sony FE 55 1.8 Zeiss, Sony FE 24-70Z, and Sony E 10-18. I bring along Lee Filter's including the Big Stopper and Little Stopper and ND Grads in that line.Feedback
In the case of this particular tree, patience is the key, for the weather conditions aren't always the best for capturing this tree. Be prepared to return to a location to shoot if conditions aren't good.
