Thank you!! One of my goals in concert photography is to capture that raw emotion of the moment. I think this was definitely one of those moments.

I'm fairly certain that it's Chester Bennington from Linkin Park.

This is a really good shot! When I first saw it I knew it was Chester Bennington! He is one of my favourites. Where did you take this photo? :)

Sorry for the delayed response. I’ve been off here for quite some time. I took this photo of Chester during a show he was fronting for Stone Temple Pilots. Chester was and still is my favorite artist. Such a devastating loss...

Location
This photo was taken at the House of Blues in Orlando, FLTime
It was taken at night during a rock concert / Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington.Lighting
Concert lighting can be very tricky as it can be your best friend or your worst nightmare. However, the lighting for this particular show was actually great. This is one several of my favorite shots and it is a prime example of sometimes less is more. It was the perfect set up as the lights went down, the singer stepped into the shadow, and the spot went up behind him creating the silhouette of him rocking the stage.Equipment
When I shoot concerts I always have my Canon 5D Mark II, a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8, and plenty of cards.Inspiration
Everything about concert photography inspires me actually. I've been venturing into other areas of photography slowly, but this is where my passion lies. I love the fast pace and of course the music. I find the challenge of trying to get just the right shots and to capture the energy and raw emotion on stage very exciting.Editing
There was a little post processing was done on this photo. I cropped it down, raised the levels a bit and reduced the noise in lightroom. In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon 5D Mark II, a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8, a Speedlite 430EX II, and plenty of cards. I have other lenses that I only take with me when they are needed.Feedback
When shooting concert photography always shoot in RAW and clean up your photos after. Use the lowest f-stop possible and adjust your shutter speed and ISO as needed. The faster your shutter speed the better so you can freeze the action. It can sometimes be a game of trial and error due to the fact that the lighting for every show is different. Aside from figuring out which settings will be best for the lighting of the night, try to anticipate the moves and mannerisms of the band members. It goes a long way in getting just the right shot.
