A terrific shot and a beautiful little butterfly. I think it's a Brown Argus. It certainly looks like one.

A very deserving winner for my photo challenge, and one of my all time favorite photos posted here on Viewbug. Congratulations :)

Location
I took this photo in Cortona, near Lake Trasimeno, at a workshop of macro photography with Alberto Ghizzi Panizza.Time
About half an hour before sunrise, we went on the shores of Lake Trasimeno ispizionare to the area as soon as the light was just before the sun rose, I started taking pictures.Lighting
For macro photography the best time to shoot is just before dawn. Direct sun should be absent, the maximum you can use an accessory light to illuminate the subject better, as in this case I used a ring flash LED light with adjustable.Equipment
To take this photo I used the Nikon D3200, a tripod, the nikkor 105mm f / 2.8, a remote control, LED ring flash to illuminate the subject, Plamp to support the blade of grass with the subject (set refined) and natural background .Inspiration
Taking macro photos is like going hunting. Before dawn, with a flashlight, inspection environment in search of persons who, in these minutes early in the morning are very cooperative (Another advantage of this time). Obviously, the subjects do not find them in a row so that you can choose the one you prefer. You have to have a lot of luck! The butterfly was the first subject I found, was placed right on the blade of grass that I cut off and placed on Plamp to build me a set. Once I set up the set, I expected that the light was enough to shoot.Editing
With Photoshop, I adjusted the level curves, contrast, vividness and saturation slightly and I straightened the picture, creating a composition with the policy, I also made ??a small cropIn my camera bag
My kit usually includes: the Nikon D3200, Tokina 11-16mm, Nikkor 50mm f / 1.4 G, nikkor 105mm f / 2.8, ND filters, a tripod (Manfrotto 055XPROB with Junior Geared Head), lens cleaning kit, a torch, multipurpose kit, a remote control, Plamp, spare batteries, spare memory cardFeedback
In addition to the equipment appropriate, necessary to do macro photography, you need to take pictures at sunrise as well as the perfect light, the insects are very cooperative: this butterfly, for example, was still in that position for much of the time. Basic equipment such as a sturdy tripod is essential, a macro lens and a remote control to avoid camera shake.
