And when the darkness comes
Emotions, like angry clouds, surround
Echoing rumbles of doubt and defeat
And you feel alone…
<P&bt;
<P&bt;
You struggle to find your way
Stumbling and lost
Wounded and weary
Fearful that this emptiness is your eternity…
<P&bt;
<P&bt;
Stand still. Hold on!
You look for the Light
Perhaps only a brief flash; a moment of illumination
But enough…
<P&bt;
<P&bt;
For in this moment of Light
The path is discovered
Your path
And you take a step forward…
<P&bt;
<P&bt;
Slowly, at first
One step at a time
Lift your eyes! Keep the faith!
Rejoice! You’re on your way…
<P&bt;
<P&bt;
Seek it.
Follow it.
Never lose sight of it!
The Light will lead you Home

Location
Several locations, actually; this is a composite of 4 different photos - all within a 25 mile radius of my home.Time
All 4 images were taken later in the dayLighting
I can't really say much about lighting, as all the images were shot in different locations, at different time, with no intent (at the time) of bringing them together....... it was all very random; not planned out at all. For the central figure, I got low, actually setting the camera on the ground, to capture the feeling of walking off into the sunset. (Sorry, I'm really not good at all the tech details)Equipment
I used a Finepix HS20 - all the shots were handheld except for the lightning bolts, and I used a cheap travel tripod from Walmart (not recommended, lol - its very unstable)Inspiration
I like to find meaningful quotes/verses/sayings to post along with my photos. I had read a quote that I wanted to use, but didn't have a photo that I felt would compliment it, so I set about making a simple composite. Well, turns out that my 'simple' composite inspired a more and more complicated composite, and by the time it was finished, it had 'outgrown' the quote I wanted to use with it, lol. It took me several days to pen the 'poetry' that I have posted with this in the description - I'm not a writer, and I'm not good at expressing myself, either - so the image and the verse both turned out to be quite a challenge for meEditing
This has extensive post processing (done in PS CS4). Used a lot of masking to blend the many layers together. I hope I never have to re-create it, as I'd be totally lost........In my camera bag
I don't have a bag, lol - my camera is the Finepix HS20, and I usually have a spare set of batteries (I like the Sanyo Eneloop batteries) and a lens cloth - that's about it. I've found the 4gb memory card is usually quite sufficient for my projects, so I don't have to carry many extras with me. I don't have any filters, or external flash units, or lighting........ although I would like to have an ND filter somedayFeedback
Don't be afraid to experiment. Play around with layers/composites, blend modes, etc - I often cycle thru every layer blend mode in PS just to see what the result will be. Find things that inspire you. Be creative, and have fun!!
