This is a skylight in my bathroom ceiling - we took the cover off to clean and this is what we found - I couldn't resist. ????

Location
Actually, this is a pretty funny story about this photo! My bathroom was a very small, dark room because it had no window. As a chic - I needed light to apply cosmetics on a daily basis. We asked a friend to install a skylight in the center of the ceiling. Wow! What a difference it made in that little room! Sometimes I don't even need to turn on the light to see what I'm doing. One day I asked my Honey if he would take the cover off so we could clean out the tube. Once the cover was off - I looked up - and, this is the view I saw - I was amazed! Since I'm always looking for unuasual sites to photograph - before the guys started cleaning out the tube - I told them to wait a minute so I could run and get my camera - I had to have a photo of this great site! Hence, the photo emerged!Time
Seems to me the photo was taken sometime in the morning - especially since I'm not the greatest early morning riser.Lighting
The lighting just happens to be perfect for the time of day - and, not a cloud in the sky...Equipment
I know this may seen hard to believe - but, my current camera is a Kodak Z981 - I know - it's not very well heard of - and the Z981 sounds more like a sports car -but, I've been able to take some great photos with this little jewel. There was no need for a tripod or a flash because - like I said - the lighting was perfect!Inspiration
I loved the clear blue sky with the mirror reflection on all the sides of the tube. The plus was the contrast of the green particles scattered around the edges and the various black circles where no light was able to shine through.Editing
The post-processing was a minimum of enhancing the blues and greens - with just a small amount of toning down the whites to limit the glare. In my camera bag
As I start out on my photography journey - my equipment is somewhat limited. My camera has a 26X zoom lens - without attachments. I, currently, make sure I have plenty of batteries - at least 12 - and an extra photo card or two. I always carry lens cleaner and the appropriate cloth - maybe my tripod from time to time. And, of course - my old trusty camera manual. If I see something that catches my eye - it doesn't take me much time to grab my camera and snap a shot!Feedback
Don't be afraid to experiment! Sometimes the most "off-the-wall" shot could be a winner! I'm always looking for something unuasual - something may catch my eye - and off I go. Be creative - start looking for something that no one else has. Fungus on trees or rocks can be beautiful! Taking photos of images I like - works best for me. I try never to concentrate on one type of photography or another. I want to shot everything there is to see out there. I just recently returned from a Black Bear Photo Tour - I never dreamed I would have an opportunity to photograph black bears! It was phenomenal!! I've never been real good at - what I call "controlled activities." More like "uncontrolled!" The more you start looking for the unusual - the more the unuasual will start to appear. Happy Shooting!
