Location
This manipulated photo is a combination of 3 from my collection. The dead tree came from Longleat, the foreground from Dewerstone on the edge of Dartmoor SE Devon (also background granite outcrop). The ruins atop the tor is the silhouette of Pomeroy Castle, South Devon.Time
Various times during the winter months.Lighting
The light was manipulated and adjusted when piecing the scene.Equipment
Simply my Sony ?35k using Aperture: f/4 ISO: 125 Exposure: 1/60 Focal Length: 18/1.... but adjustments varied depending on the photograph.Inspiration
I saw the tree at Longleat country park the land surrounding Lord Bath's home. It was a sorry looking tree, tortured with strips of iron and chains to hold this dead wooden caracas together. Because I live in Devon but from Cornwall, the rugged yet sometimes barren and grey granite moorlands set the scene in a post apocalyptic world...Editing
As I used several pieces from 3 photos i used Photoshop and Lightroom to construct this photo. I was mindful to blend colours and light to make it look as if the tree, foreground, background, sky marry. This was my first attempt in this style. In my camera bag
That is my own private domain and usually consists of 2 lenses and jumbled filters in their wrong cases. Like an office, I know where it all is!Feedback
With what photos you have in your collection pick those with similar tones, geology, colours and experiment on Photoshop or other software. This was a first attempt and very simple that got me a finalist position.
