Thank you! :) We had to hike through the glacier water just to get to it. It was so worth it! :)

Location
On the way up to Mt. Baker in Washington State above Nooksack Falls. You can only see a glimps of it from a logging road. You have to hike through the stream which is all glacier water to get to it. There is a bend That holds the pool of water below the falls just before the falls, that is when you can actually see it. Right at the bend is where I took this photo. You have no idea what you are going to see until you come to that bend.Time
This was late afternoon on a cloudy day.Lighting
This was my first attempt at taking a picture of a waterfall with a tri-pod. I had done a lot of research on the internet on camera settings when taking photos of moving water so I decided to give it a try. When I got to the falls, I was a little nervous that it would not work because we were so deep into the forest and it appeared to be rather dark and was an overcast day. After taking my 1st shot I was so excited. It appeared to be just right. So I took several more. I did not have a whole lot of room to take photos at different angles. I was with my husband and we only had a sand bar about 3x5' to stand on.Equipment
I only used my Camera and lens.Inspiration
I love waterfalls. I have been putting some of my nature photos on canvas and hanging them in my house. I eventually would like to upgrade my camera (I have a T2i) and start selling some of my work at craft shows. For now my camera works great for practicing and supplying photos for family and friends.Editing
I did a little in lightroom but only to work on the exposure a tiny bit and used a little vibrance to brighten it up. Other than that I was very happy with how the color turned out and felt it was so true as to what we really saw out there. The waterfall sounded so soothing and yet powerful and I felt that this photo really showed that. of course their is nothing better than to see something like this in person. In my camera bag
It depends on what I am doing and where I am going. If we are doing a long hike, I have a backpack and have a few lenses and filters. I finally convinced my husband after him seeing this waterfall that a tri-pod is a must. If we go on shorter hikes, I will take another bag with filters, flash, tri-pod and reflector. I try not to make it to heavy so some stuff does stay home. Because I am still in a learning stage, have been for a few years now, I try to get my stuff off of amazon and ebay. I hope to be able to upgrade all of that stuff some day and maybe go professional. We have some beautiful scenery in our Mountains.Feedback
Sometimes you have to sacrifice to get shots like this. This water was so cold when we went hiking in it, it was rather deep in places and above our knees. I wanted to give up so bad because it was so cold and rather hard to wade through it but kept pushing myself with the encouragement of my husband. We had no idea what we were going to run into because we could only see a glimpse of the waterfall almost the whole way but knew it had to be something spectacular because of how high the glimpse of the waterfall was. Don't think you can't do photos like this. We have had some very expensive medical issues in the past so money is an issue. There is so much on the internet for free that can teach yourself how to take shots like this plus you-tube videos are out there to. There are also some very good photography books. Viewing others photos and studying their camera settings also helps. That is why I like Viewbug so much. It is such an encouragement. Once you have an idea on how its done, get out there and start practicing until you are happy with it. Don't give up! :) It is so rewarding! :)
