Wonderful image. It reminds me of a summer vacation when our family spent about 2 weeks in a small town in Switzerland named Engelberg. It was summer and winter in one. Amazing. And your shot captured our experience.

Location
This photo was taken on my way up to Artist Point on Mt. Baker. Right at the entrance there is a small lake with Mt. Shuksan in the background. I had decided to go up that day by myself with my camera and just do some reflecting on life and take some pictures.Time
This was in the month of September. I went up around 5:30. I drove past the lake and had to turn around. The view was just breathtaking! :) The lighting was just perfect. I do wish that I was standing a little more to the left but several other nature viewers had the same idea.Lighting
This lighting was just perfect. It was the perfect time of the day. The sky was such a gorgeous blue, the mountain was breathtaking and the reflection on the water was clear. I was so excited when I took this photo. I do wish I had my tri-pod but their was so many people and I was afraid the lighting was going to change rapidly on me.Equipment
With this one I used my camera and my 30 mm lens.Inspiration
This small lake is called "Picture Lake". It is one of the most photographed scenes on Mt. Baker. I always wanted to take a shot at it and try to top everyone. I don't know if I accomplished that but have received a lot of compliments from locals who have viewed it. This is one that I put on a canvas to hang in my house.Editing
I worked a little on the exposure. Some of my trees in the foreground appeared more like a silhouette. I don't know all of the ins and outs of lightroom but I am learning. I do feel I could have done a better job and that is something that I will keep practicing on.In my camera bag
I generally carry a camera and a few lenses. It depends on where I am going. If I am doing a shorter hike or a drive like this one I will carry a reflector and filters. You never know what you will see in the wilderness.Feedback
My advise is to keep trying and never give up. Wait for the correct lighting. I was very fortunate when I took this because this is the way that it looked when I got there, however, I have sat in places for more than an hour waiting for the correct lighting.
