This photo was taken from the tower on the American side of Niagara Falls.Time

When the lighting is just right you will see rainbows through the mist and reflecting off the ice.Equipment
I believe this photo was taken with my first digital camera, a Fuji.Inspiration
I am fortunate to live about 18 miles from "the Falls" and have been photographing them for fifty years. For me the best time to view the Falls is in the winter. The mist creates ice on the trees, making the area into a winter wonderland. In the years when the weather is cold enough and we have a lot of snow, an ice bridge will form across the gorge below the Horseshoe falls. I have viewed and photographed some that were absolutely spectacular. Niagara Falls is constantly changing and I have photos of features that are no longer there. The winter for me is the absolute best time to see the falls. These two people in this photo obviously felt the same way that day.Editing
There was no post processing done with the exception of cropping and a bit of sharpening. In my camera bag
Today I carry a Pentax K7 with the kit lens, a medium length Tamron zoom, an 80-320 Pentax zoom and two fixed Pentax lenses, a 100mm macro and a 200mm f2.8.Feedback
I would wish that every photographer could experience Niagara Falls in the winter. If you do bundle up in layers and wear two pairs of gloves - one thin enough to operate your camera without exposing your hands, There are no bad photos to be had.
