Thank you to all the photographers that participated in the Waterfalls And People Photo Contest, sharing their best photos showing people and waterfalls. Congratulations to the winners and finalists, and a special round of applause for the Grand Jury Winner who wins a Spider Holster present.

A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer David Beckstead for his collaboration as a guest judge. David was named “The Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the World” by American Photo magazine - March 2007, but David is truly a mountain man at heart! He has traveled to over 80 countries and almost every state in the US. He has hiked thousands of miles of backcountry, including above the base camp of Mt. Everest. He was one of the first registered trackers for Arizona Search and Rescue. He worked for the US Forest Service for 12 summers as a Hotshot firefighter fighting fires around the US and Canada, all the while carrying a Nikon SLR with a 50 mm 1.8 lens. David is a fine art watercolor painter and lover of all things artistic.

Grand Jury Winner

"This is an image I would hang on my wall! The compositional flow starting from the waterfall leading into the clouds, down the cone shaped mountain and to the person is just perfect! All the shapes and tones work in harmony to achieve a great circular composition! I can feel and hear the movement of the water and clouds. A musical concert put on by the photographer and nature." - David Beckstead

Runner Up

"Love the symmetry this photographer achieved with an unusual take on Waterfalls and People. It is important to find an angle or perspective that is different than the normal within a situation. This photographer truly made something stylistic and unique." - David Beckstead

Runner Up

"Love the mood of this illustration! I can attribute many stories to this frame. I feel the power of the water and truly wonder what her next move will be! The concept of mood is an important idea and this photographer created a wonderful environment here." - David Beckstead

Runner Up

"I love how this photographer really incorporated their subject into the falls. The harmony of water and the symmetry of the pose works wonderfully." - David Beckstead
