Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Los Angeles County Fire Department Explorer Program Graduation, where the young men and women graduate the program and show off their skills they have learned.

Time

This was taken about 11am in the morning on a Saturday, a hot day.

Lighting

Natural, outdoor, sunny, day.

Equipment

This was taken with my old Canon EOS REBEL T1i, f/5.6 ISO 250 1/2000?

Inspiration

I was trying to get an amazing action shot showing what firefighters do during an intense fire and how they have to make hols on the roof to expose the fire.

Editing

This photo really didn't need any adjusting, maybe some slight contrast work to make the smoke pop.

In my camera bag

Now I have upgraded to the Canon 7D and carry three lenses with me, 18-135mm, 75-300mm and a 50mm.

Feedback

I love action shots, just be on your toes and shoot fast and multiple exposures.
