Absolutely beautiful! It's a photograph that makes you sit back and study the beauty ... and find the word "wow" escaping from your lips.

Location
I took this shot of Tehya several years ago when she was only about 13 months old. She had just joined our family and had been exploring her new home. We had a treadmill standing in a corner of the room and Tehya liked to sit under it and watch us. I grabbed my camera on this occasion and got down to her level and captured this super shot.Time
The sun was low in the sky quite possibly around 2 pm in the afternoon and was casting great sidelight through the front room window.Lighting
I don't really like flash too much so I took advantage of the natural sidelight.Equipment
My camera at the time was a Nikon D60 which I had for about 5 years or so before upgrading to the Nikon D5200. The lens I was using was a 70 - 300 Tamron lens.Inspiration
It was really a grabbed shot because everything about it was in my favour; The pose, the lighting and the sweet looking husky.Editing
I always edit my shots, this can be anything from simple cropping, sharpening, colour saturation or straightening a horizon. In this case with Tehya, I boosted the colour in her beautiful eyes slightly. In my camera bag
In my camera bag I normally carry around with me; A Nikon D5200 camera, an 18 - 55mm Nikkor lens and a 70 - 300 mm Nikkor lens, an off camera flash unit, a cable release, Coken adapter rings for both lens, an 8 times ND filter and a polariser filter, a blower torpedo and a strong banjo strap.Feedback
If you know the habits of your pets or even your children and want to capture them wether it be a candid shot or planned, try to keep your camera to hand and set up as best you can. In other words, be ready. Try to guess what aperture you might use, the ISO setting and white balance etc so all you have to do is compose and fire away. Get down to their level and focus on their eyes if you can.
