Location
This is two photographs sandwiched together in Photoshop. I believe the moon shot was taken at night, in my back garden with my Nikon D60 and a 500mm lens and two times converter using a cheap but stable tripod. The shot of Tehya, our Husky was also taken in our back garden during the day while she was playing with soap bubbles.Time
At night for the moon and probably midday for Tehya.Lighting
I lightened the moon slightly in Photoshop and added a little contrast. I cut Tehya out from her photo and pasted her in front of the moon and moved her slightly to make her look like she was howling at the moon. Then darkened her for the effect I needed.Equipment
As aboveInspiration
I love Wolves and having a Husky in our family is the nearest I’m going to get in being up close to one, (if that makes sense) so I just worked some magic.Editing
As above.In my camera bag
These days I use a Nikon D5200. 18 too 55 mm Nikon kit lens or 70 too 300 mm Nikon lens. Polariser filter ND grad 8 times 3 Spare batteries 2 spare SD cards Cable releaseFeedback
I always say just do it and have fun trying. If it doesn’t work out try again but don’t get uptight.
