Location
I took this photo early one morning on Marske by the sea beach looking towards Saltburn and the local cliffs (Huntcliffe) I am a self taught photographer (self taught during lockdown UK March - September 2020)Time
This is one of my favourite images and was not planned on been taken, it was about 07:00 and i was on my way home after working a 12 hour nightshift and thought id stay awake just a little bit longer and head to the beach to capture the sunrise. I was actually zooming in on the sun just popping up over the cliffs and as i was panning the camera around this shot fell into my viewfinder. i had the whole beach to myelf that morning and was really good to capture. The shot was taken on October 2nd 2020 at 07:12Lighting
This shot basically did it all itself, the natural light of the sunrise made it a very special shot, i like the way the sunshines through the grass and highlights each blade in the shotEquipment
This was shot on a Canon 100D with a Sigma 70-300 zoom lens, no other equipment was involved.Inspiration
I always carry my equipment when travelling in the car, i was on my way home after a 12 hour nightshift and saw the sunrise was building nicely. i decided to go to my home village ( Marske by the Sea) and go onto the beach to capture the sun rising above the cliffs. I wasnt actually planning this shot i was actually zooming in on the sun just popping up over the cliffs and as i was panning the camera around this shot fell into my viewfinder. i had the whole beach to myelf that morning and was really good to capture.Editing
i usually have to edit quite a lot using photoshop lightroom (mobile app) I shot in RAW and just one click with the "auto" button and this was the resultIn my camera bag
My go to kit is my Canon 100D and the 18-55 kit lens, i have built up over time and now i carry, canon 50mm prime lens, 70-300 sigma zoom lens, joby gorillapod, a travel tripod made by boots (bought of ebay), Gobe ND filters, 10 stop and a variable nd filter and also a polarizer.i also carry a lens ball just for a bit of fun.Feedback
The UK coastline has very unique characteristics, the weather can change very quickly from one minute to the next, you can have all 4 seasons within a few hours. I try to have a few locations noted down or in mind so im always ready to go if things start happening, im always prepared for the ever changing colours and situations, sunrise and sunsets are key moments as i can capture a variety of shots from the same locations. patience is always key.
