Location
This photo was taken at Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick, Canada. These unique shapes were created by the high tides of a local river. I highly recommend visiting this site as there are many other fascinating rock shapes also created by the tides.Time
This photo was take around late afternoon around 5pm. It was a bit breezy but quite humid as well. It was a provincial park so it can be busy, but I found people to be very kind and thoughtful to photographers.Lighting
This was all naturally lite by the sun. I was was positioned beside a rock, so I was in the shade and did not have to wrestle with lens flares.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon Rebel T5i on a 18-200min lens. No flash or tripod used for the shot.Inspiration
I went to this particular location on a vacation trip and when tour the site, I just thought to my self, I really want to have a great memory of this place. When I saw the two rock formation, I thought oh wow, "would you look at that?! that looks like a dinosaur and an alien head!", The next thing you know, my camera is out and I am taking photos. At that time the tides began to come in,high tides - water rises, so I had to be quick in taking the photo.Editing
I first imported the photo to Adobe Lightroom and work on the lighting and brought up some of the shadows. I had to increase the sharpness a light as I was working with different depth of field subjects. I also knocked back some highlights for balance. In my camera bag
I would love to have better camera equipment but at the moment I have a small budget for camera equipment. In my camera bag, I have a Canon Flash, 18-200mm Telephoto lens, Canon Rebel T5i, an 18mm fixed lens, some extra batteries, a polarize lens adapter and a shutter remote for the T5i.Feedback
Be always on the lookout, think outside the box, being able to capture beautiful sights around the world is a gift. Enjoy photographing, sharing your capture with people can inspire people and make a great difference in the world. :)
