Location
I took this photo at the coast of Zeeland, in the southwest of the NetherlandsTime
It was in the evening at sunsetLighting
Well, I noticed that the sun headed into the direction of the flag, so I figured out that it would be great to have the flag captured right before the sun. Shooting against the sun is possible with a high speed, so I could well capture the strong windguts in the flagEquipment
I used a Nikon D800e and a Tamron zoomlens 28-300, handheldInspiration
The strong wind and golden sunset that evening were the two elements I wanted to express in one photo. The flag brought these two elements together, with it’s curved silhouet and transparency.Editing
I post - processed it in Lightroom, using a bit saturation, clearance and darkening the egdes. I used an extra gold filter to emphasise the wonderful golden glow that eveningIn my camera bag
My Nikon D800e, a Tamrom 28-300, a one-pod and a monkey-pod. Also remote controller for long exposure shots.Feedback
Use your imagination and think out of the box. Choose surprising standpoints to shoot from, instead of the regular angles. Focus on key elements instead of trying to stuff too much information in one photo.
