My beloved dog Zenia was so ill I had to decide to let her sleep forever on the 15th of October. That was a though decision, knocked me off my feet. This photo is from a year ago when she was still so happy and vivid.

I took the photo at the other side of my home, there's a small wood with a nice trail where Zenia (that's her name) used to run often.Time
It was in the afternoon, around 4 PMLighting
In the Netherlands, October is the most colorful month because of the autumn. Leafs are fallen all over the place and when the sun sets in the afternoon it provides nice warm tones. So I just used the natural light conditions and Zenia blends in wonderful with her similar colored fur.Equipment
I used a Nikon D800e with a Tamron lens, 28 - 300 mm. This one was shot with a focal length of 78 mm, just out of my hand.Inspiration
The sheer fun of my dog. Mind this: this is almost a year before she died at the age of 16. she hardly could see anything anymore, but she looked and acted like a puppy. Amazing. I knew her condition would become more worse soon, so I wanted to do a photoshoot, as a nice memory for the future. This award makes me a bit emotional, she did it and owns it!Editing
I did some extra toning, a bit more saturation and contrast adjustments, just the basic post processing. I was very pleased with the raw material settings. In my camera bag
My basic gear: the Nikon D800e (the beast!) , a Tamron 28-300 mm zoomlens, a little manfrotto carbon travel tripod and the magnificent AI Arsenal device, which is managed by my iPhone X.Feedback
Capture the moment! Be alert and make use of an original position where you shoot from, or a specific remarkable decorum, like the colors and lighting in this photo, how they match with the colors of my dog.
