Fire Bellied Toad Facts:
* Scientific name: Bambina
* Amphibians
* Semi-aquatic species
* Origin: China, Korea, Southern Russia
* Size: 2-3 inches length
* Lifespan: About 5-7 years
* Heart shaped pupils
* Behavior: Active at night
* Shy
* Easy care
* Great family pets & school pets
Habitat:
* 10 gallon glass terrarium or larger
* Both dry land and water areas
* Change dirty pool water ~ clear water okay
* Spray habitat daily with treated water
* Spray plants and back wall, NOT the toad!
* Keep the habitat between 72 to 78 degrees
* Use daytime UVB light
Food:
* Dry fish flakes
* Live crickets, waxworms and red wigglers
* Feed young toads once a day and adults 3 or 4 times a week
Pet Safety Tips:
* Fire belly toads have sensitive skin and should NOT be handled much
* Supervise young children with fire bellied toads
* Fire belly toads may also secrete toxins
* Thoroughly wash hands with warm, soapy water after contact of any pet, its habitat, or aquarium water
Handling:
* Limit handling
* NO picking up - school
* Touch with one finger only
* Red Fire Bellied toads do naturally produce a skin toxin that can be irritating to the eyes or open cuts
* Thoroughly wash hands with soap water
