This is our really cool looking pet crested gecko named Loki.
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Scientific name: Correlophus ciliatus
Origin: The crested gecko or eyelash gecko is a species of gecko native to southern New Caledonia.
* Rediscovered: This species was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in1994.
Fun Facts:
* Crested geckos have been nicknamed the "eyelash" gecko due to the ridges that run along the top of their eyes.
* They do not blink but they do LICK their eyeballs to keep them moist.
* A few geckos are known to be very vocal, making barking or squeaking noises.
