Location
This was taken in Door County, Wisconsin as my husband and I were hiking and exploring at Newport State Park on our typical fall vacation up north.Time
If I remember, I believe this was taken mid afternoon. We weren't even sure where we were heading, but just followed the path like it was the 'yellow brick road', but in this case, the orange dirt path.Lighting
It had actually just rained, so you might notice that it was kind of dreary looking (just how I like it!) and not very sunny! Just perfect lighting in my opinion.Equipment
I always have my handy dandy Canon 5DMiii with at ALL times when I'm out hiking. This was shot by hand as I don't always like to carry a tripod with. Disclaimer: No flash was used in the making of this shot. :)Inspiration
What inspired me you ask?!? Ummmm...the pureness of nature and God's creation! I loved the way at the path was on a small incline which lead your eyes right to the lighter colored leaves in the center. There were 2 larger trees that really just framed them for me. AND I LOVE TREES!Editing
I try to get it right in the camera, and I was close with this one. BUT, I did add a little bit of contrast, a little vignette, added a little bit of purple color fill to tame down the greens and added a matte finish. In my camera bag
I have used a Canon bag (and when that one starts stinking or wears out, I buy the same one again) that always holds my Canon 5DMiii, Canon 75-200, Canon 24-70, and Canon 100 macro. Of course, back up batteries and cards, my Carmex (I NEVER GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT THAT), and my eyeglass cleaner...cuz I HATE smudges!! Oh, and my trail mix....yum!Feedback
Always have your camera with you as MUCH as possible, because you never know when the perfect image appears right before your eyes! AND get outside!!! It doesn't have to be the perfect sunny day either! Clouds and rain are your friend.....
