As I arrived the sun was illuminating the rocks and moss, creating an ethereal scene like something from a fantasy movie. I took this long exposure shot to capture the graceful movement of the water, and straight after the sunlight vanished. I can see now why it is called Fairy Glen as there is definitely magic down there.

Beautiful! The lighting is perfect and I really like how you smoothed the water with the long exposure.

I've awarded a Magnificent Capture. It's not often we catch a genuinely monotone scene like this, with all the gentle, sift light, and you nailed it!

Was it early in the morning or late in the evening? If it were early in the morning, thanks for getting up so early for all of us! 😁

Location
This photograph was taken at a magical shot known as Fairy Glen on the river Conwy, North Wales.Time
Normally, I try to take photographs at the start or end of the day as the light is usually at its best. This photograph, however, was taken around noon as this is when the sun was high enough for the shafts of light to enter the glen.Lighting
It is the light that makes this shot. I have taken it at different times, and it is at its best when the light streams into the dark glen.Equipment
I used a 10 stop filter here to capture the motion of the water, and to help capture the reflections from the light.Inspiration
It's a wonderful location hidden away. The place is beautiful and peaceful with just the sound of birdsong and the bubbling river winding it's way down.Editing
I decreased the highlights slightly and lifted the shadows as well as a slight change to the white balance. In my camera bag
I normally carry around my tripod and have a range of filters for situations such as this.Feedback
Make sure you visit a location at the correct time. I had visited this place before at my usual time just after dawn, but that was hopeless for a shot such as this, as it was far too dark. The lighting has to be correct.
