Location
The photo was taken at Frost Valley YMCA, New York State. I used my first Sony DSLR camera. Also, this is my first 'long exposure' photo.Time
This was taken at 11:00AM on 10/20/13 with beautiful morning sunlight.Lighting
This was all natural light. Sun was bright with nice shadows. It made beautiful Autumn colors.Equipment
Camera: Sony Alpha a57, Lens: Sony DT 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 SAM zoom lens, Data: 55mm, f25, 1.6 second, ISO 100. I used tripod with no flash.Inspiration
When I was walking around the path (hiking trail) along the stream, I looked down and found the beautiful scene. I stepped down to the big rocks. I set the tripod. Water was so clean and fresh, wall was beautiful with sunlight and beautiful colored leaves on the rocks. I pressed the shutter without hesitation. I did not want to miss this beautiful scene.Editing
I used the 'Lightroom' to lower the highlight and adjust the shadows on the lower part of the rocks. Also, I cropped. In my camera bag
Currently, I carry Sony Alpha a99 (full frame), Sony Alpha ILCA-77M2, Minolta 100mm macro f2.8, Konica Minolta 17-35mm f2.8-4.0, Minolta 28-70mm G f2.8, Minolta 80-200mm f2.8 G APO, Sony 70-300mm G SSM f4.5-5.6, Tripod or Monopod, Sony Flash HVL-F43M or Sony HVL-F42AM Flash, Hoya PL filters, B&W ND filter and Kenko ND filter.Feedback
If you encounter the beautiful scene, don't hesitate or wait and just take some pictures. After I took this photo, I visited the same place 4 times (including this year, 2017), but water level is so low. I was lucky I have this beautiful picture. When you are walking around, always make a picture frame in your head before holding the camera.
