Location
This picture was taken in the Yellowstone National Park in early January with temperatures well below zero.Time
This picture was taken in mid afternoon under heavy cloudsLighting
Photographying subjects on snow can be difficult. Lighting was softened by the clouds and did not create harsh contrast. Uneven ground gave a bit of shadows on the snow blanket, adding depth to the picture.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Canon 7D MKII mounted with a EF 500mm F4 lens at full aperture.Inspiration
I was thrilled when i saw the coyote come towards me ans stayed still in the snow with a low vantage point. I shot several pictures while it came closer to me and his eyes looked straight into the lens.Editing
I did very little post processing, slightly adjusting contrast and saturation. In my camera bag
My bag includes 2 Canon camera bodies, and 4 lenses: EF500mm F4 MKII, EF 100-400mm MKII, 24-70mm F4L IS and Tamron 15-30mm F2.8Feedback
Spend as much time as possible in the field so as to meet with the unexpected!
