Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at one of those cosplay that centered around the American Revolution era. I spotted this guy because he must have really gotten into it...the shaved head, hair, nose ring, etc.

Time

There was no tripod for this shot because I was walking around the camp ground, sometime in the afternoon. It was a bright sunshiny day.

Lighting

When I saw the image on my computer, I decided it would best in black and white...to capture that dramatic lighting of the sun shining down from the left side of his profile.

Equipment

It was taken with a Nikon D300 DSL...(I've switched over to mirrorless now, Fujifilm X-T3, which I love. In this image I used a kit lens.

Inspiration

This Indian just looked like a real Indian to me...he was really into the role, and I thought by taking his picture in side view that it would show his noble profile and great costume.

Editing

I changed it from color to B&W in photoshop.

In my camera bag

Now I have the Fujifilm X-T3, with two kit lenses, and a 35 mm lens, plus extension tube (16mm).

Feedback

look at what attracts you to your image in the first place and emphasize that POV. In this case, it was his magnificent profile.
