thanks guys! was close! most of the tigers at this game farm were brought there when they were young, so are quite used to humans... but still you should never trust a wild animal, ever!

Behind The Lens
Location
It was taken on a Game Farm in the eastern cape, south africa....this game farm has about, on the last count (when i was last there) was there 70+ species of game, including Cats, Hippo`s, buck, Giraffe, there is other big game, but due to security i wont mention what....or where it is located.Time
Roughly just after midday, i know it was not the best time, but i always say, when on location & something happens, dont worry what time of day it is, get the shot, because some things just happen at that exact time and place....Lighting
The sun was past midday, so a lens hood is vital to reduce glare, flash was not a option, because animals don`t like the sound the flash makes to charge and even the flash itself....i normally shoot a little over exposedEquipment
Canon 7D mki, Canon 17-40mm F4 L-series lens, no flash, taken at 1/400 sec, ISO - 100 in Manual modeInspiration
I wanted to be close! a full face shot, with just the head in the frame, when he opened he`s mouth, made it extra special....the tiger is quite friendly but i wanted a angry look...i think i got what is was looking for!Editing
I love converting my animal shots to black & white, i have edited the lighting in LR, enhanced the shadows, there were a few unwanted things i edited out..In my camera bag
Bag - F-Stop (Tilopa with a large Pro ICU) - Insane Bag!!!!!! Canon 7D mk1, Canon 550D, i just have canon lenses - 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 17-40mm f4 L, 70-200mm F4 L, 300mm L, 2 x 430 flashes, reflector, a phottix triggers & receivers & about 5 x 8gig sandisk CF cards + a 16 Gig sandisk....Feedback
Animals are very unpredictable, do not attempt anything similar to this shot, without a guide...they know the animals, just before this shot i was with the hyenas, the guide was watching my back....i wanted a low shot, there were 3 of them, not together....so when i was focused on the one, the other two came for me, but as soon as i stood up they backed of....be very careful, your life is more important than a cool pic!
