Behind The Lens
Location
This was either taken in the UT San Antonio studio or the UT Arlington Studio while i was in Grad school. I was a former employee for the Art dept. at UTA and faculty gave me limited access to the studio to work.Time
I think is was during the day, but working with strobes in a studio.Lighting
Nothing major, other than to use the biggest soft box you can find to give the light that ethereal glow.Equipment
Canon 1D MK III, Novatron or photogenic strobes, Canon lens not sure, f 8 Hand held on rolling chair, and a plastic tarp.Inspiration
I was thinking about philosophy and the ideas surrounding the isness ( What things exist as ) of things.Editing
I do a little tweaking in photoshop or lightroom that include levels, curves and little dodging to clean up the whites. I also try to bring a little more detail back into the figure. In my camera bag
I normally walk a round with a Canon 5D mk 2 with a 40mm pancake lens, a Tamron 28-75mm, and a Canon 100mm macro. These are my work horse lenses, I use them for everything.Feedback
Like I tell my photo students just get in there play around and have fun. Also don't put the camera away until the shoot is over.
