I took this picture 2 years ago at the Riverbanks Zoo Columbia, SC. I was looking at some professional animal photographs on google, and there was a good bit with black backgrounds! so I was like, hmm, how did they do that. So I googled it and some was done by lighting and some was done by lightroom. So, I was just messing around with the edits and I figured out a way to do it(: I was so thrilled! I stayed up all night trying to figure out how to. I just painted the background black and messed with the lighting and ba-bam! it came out half way decent ;)

When I took the photograph the elephant was facing the sun. I toned down the brightness on its face and changed it to B&W.Equipment
I used my Canon Rebel T1i. The lens I was using was my 70-300.Inspiration
I was always amazed how other photographer's got a black background on there photos. I was determine to figure out how they did it. So, I got on YouTube and started looking up some videos on how to get a black background in your photos. And this is how mine turned out :)Editing

If you find stuff interesting and you would like to figure out how to do different stuff to your photos. The best way is to look up some videos, or ask someone that is also into photography and see if they can help.
