This photo was taken in my backyard. I had built a planter box to attract hummingbirds and butterflies. I had happened to go back to water the plants and saw this beautiful large female Praying Mantis.Time
This picture was taken at about 7am on a Saturday morningLighting
I had just enough early morning light coming in through the leaves to get the shot I wantedEquipment
I used my Canon EOS Rebel 3TI with my 100mm macro lense on a tripodInspiration
Inspiration is Mother Nature. She has a vast array of beauty. Along with right place, right time.Editing
I do not own any photoshop or light room software. Just minor adjustment to contrast and a crop with standard photo editor on my laptopIn my camera bag
I normally carry with me my Canon EOS Rebel 3TI, Canon EOS Rebel T5I, Canon100mm macro lense, macro tube extenders, Canon 18-135mm, Canon 75-300mm, Tamron 150-600mm, tripods, homemade camera mount for ground shots, led light ring, steel wool and cage for steel wool spinning, glow sticks, and led lightsFeedback
My advise would be for people to look beyond the normal. Look for detail. People don't take the time now a days to appreciate nature and her creations. There's a lot of beauty right in front of our eyes. Practice, take your time and not rush, be bold, try new angles, new ideas, etc. Set your self apart from the masses. Know your camera and choose your lighting, wether it be natural (time of day) or artificial (light ring, flash, flashlight etc).
