Location
This photo was taken at home, shortly after we received a lovely buquet of blue irises.Time
I used natural through-the window afternoon light and I started to shoot a series of close-up photos.Lighting
I found natural light to work best for my flower photos.Equipment
The camera CANON EOS 40D was equipped with a 100mm CANON macro lens and mounted on a Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I looked at the flower like one would look at a model. I was inspired by the beauty and intricacy of the Iris and I used a direct/frontal approach.Editing
Minimal post-processing included cropping and contrast. In my camera bag
These days I use a CANON 5D Mark III with the new 100mm Macro IS lens.Feedback
My advice to photographers that like macro is to look for beauty in small natural things and when they find it, capture it and show it to others that pass it by.
