This is where I call home, We are surrounded by water and a lot of natural beauty, you can see the stars at night and hear the ocean crashing against the shore, go pick berries just over the hill, go boating without having to drive to the cottage, hell....this is the cottage, lol, you not only know your neighbors, you know everyone in the community, kids can play freely outside knowing that everyone is having an eye on them...yes, this is where I call home :-)

This photo was taken in my home town of Harbour Mille , Newfoundland Canada, it is a small fishing village with 120 residents, The main source of income at one time was fishing, there are still some fishermen ( Mainly Lobster & Cod) but some go to other areas of the Province and Country to work and they usually work a rotation of 2 weeks away and 1 week at home. There are also many seniors in our community. Spring is a hit or miss here, but mostly its chilly and wet,Summers are warm but not too hot, fall is usually very nice, winter; not so much :-(. The scenery is amazing as you can see, we get many tourist visit and some love it so much, they buy summer homes :-) Many people have said that they love how when you drive in to the town is down in a valley.Time
This was taken early evening when I got off work...I grabbed my camera and went up to take a picture of the sunsetLighting
The sun was setting, so it added the mood that I was looking for; It made it look cold , yet warm and inviting...It makes you want to be nestled by the fire in one of the homes, sipping on a tea or coffee or maybe something a little strongerEquipment
I used a Canon T41 and a tripod, It was a very chilly evening so I quickly got some shots and headed back to my home!Inspiration
I love my community, I love my province, I love the view from where this picture was taken!Editing
I did not do much post processing, just a little saturation .In my camera bag
My Canon T41, Canon power shot XS 50 HS, canon 18-123 lenses, Canon 10-18, canon 75 - 300, tamron 90mm macro, canon 50mm, and some filtersFeedback
For starters, always have your camera with you, you never know when you are gonna see something that you would want to photograph. Always have charged batteries, Clean gear and check your settings...look at what is in the photo that could distract from what you envision, remove it if possible, and then take a few pictures at different angles and settings but most of all.....enjoy!!!
