Holi Festival Brisbane this year.
Holi represents the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It is also said to be the enactment of a game the Hindu god Lord Krishna played with his consort Radha and the gopis, or milkmaids.
A celebration steeped in history where everyone showers other in colourful powder and laughter.

Location
Holi Festival in Jindalee, Brisbane Queensland AusTime
Image was captured early afternoon during festivities!Lighting
Image was captured in full daylight with moderate cloud cover. Overall lighting was impacted by the pure essence of colourful powder showering party goers at the festival.Equipment
My Canon 5DMkIV was my go to camera for this shoot. Image captured handheld without any flash. Lens was a 70x200, f/2 L SeriesInspiration
Keen to capture the beauty of the festival and laughter and friendly nature of the crowd involved. No alcohol event so there was absolutely no tension of likelihood of hostilities amongst people celebrating this special occasion.Editing
Minor LR adjustments for framing purposes and gaining a better perspective of the subjects in the image. In my camera bag
Carry Canon 5D MkIV as mainstay camera. Have three (3) L Series lens, f/2.8, ranging from 16X35mm, 24x70mm to 70x200mm. Always have my flash at the ready and a range of detachable filters, polaroid and ND filters. A good quality Tripod is also always at the ready!Feedback
The Holi festivities is full of quick movement and various lighting situations due to lots of powder being thrown into the air to celebrate this historic even. Necessary to ensure a higher shutter speed to capture the movement and expressions on peoples faces. Wonderful event to follow!
