Bonaire
Turtles are numerous around the island of Bonaire situated approximately 40 miles off the coast of Venezuela. Bonaire is home to the oldest marine park in the Caribbean. The park was established in 1979 and covers all waters down to 200 feet surrounding Bonaire covering 6672 acres. This protection has allowed Bonaire to become a haven for marine life. The corals and fish life in the islands waters are like no others in the Caribbean Sea.
This Hawksbill turtle was circling well above the reef in about 25 feet of water. I was able to follow the turtle for a few minutes and was able to capture this amazing image. This was not easy as both the turtle and I were in constant motion which makes capturing a perfect image extremely difficult but not impossible.
