Flamingo Tongue Snails are not uncommon to find while diving. You may see one or two on each dive. This trip to Grand Cayman was different. I saw thousands during the 10 day dive trip. Every sea fan or gorgonian had several snails on them! Models were everywhere, the hard part was figuring out which one take a picture of.
Part of the pattern you see on the snail is actually their skin wrapped around the outside of the shell and every snail is just a pit different in pattern and sometimes coloration. There is even a snail that is called the Fingerprint Snail for obvious reasons!
