Dance first. Think later. Finding yourself while completely losing yourself. All negative energy sheds with the setting sun. A sculpture delicately crafted with joyful movement and one imperfectly perfect press of the sh
Lindsay and I took a little weekend getaway to New Mexico. Nothing like a roadtrip to bring you closer to each other and celebrating the important yet often so simple things in life. Let's just say, we both needed it. A few obstacles thrown in the way as we often encounter perpetually teaching us more about this thing we all call life.
On a hazy and windy day at White Sands. No set plans. I saw a ridge that piqued my imagination and told Lindsay to run up...she asked me, "What should I do?" I replied, just be you...embrace yourself. What ensued was poetic magic. She joyfully danced away, twirling, skipping, laughing and letting her soul shine. An ethereal few moments. Our love for each other growing stronger, life's stresses sunk deep into the sand and pure gratitude for this life we have been given.
Perhaps, this could all be seen as social media cliche only showing living that 'perfect life', but that's far from truth. If anything, I hope it speaks to you in some way. Try not to compare yourself to others. Don't try and be more like 'them.' Be real. Be vulnerable. Look out for each other. Acknowledge your relative privilege no matter the circumstances. Celebrate yourself, others and the world around you.
My advice for what it's worth...just let go sometimes. Get out there whether it's your backyard or across the world. Get out of your head at times, then climb back into it exploring the deepest reaches, love greater, laugh until your belly is sore, cry until your soul hurts, be patient, strive for imperfection, strip life down to the basics and remind yourself that that world is real out there. You can't scroll through it on a browser.utter . A surreal fairy-tale moment frozen forever.
